www.BeautifullyHorrible.net updates General Info: With increased hits to my website, myspace, fotki, and deviant because of youtube and other things a lot of people have been bringing to my attention the lack of working links on my website. Let me be the first to say I know that many of the links are not working right now, they do not work - or are only loading source code - because when I transferred them from the old site at o-f.com for some reason the coding was lost in translation. I have been planning (for about three months) to sit down and go through page by page to correct the linking/loading errors, but as you see I haven't gotten that far. I have asked a few people, whom asked me first, if they wanted to take over management of the website... But finally someone is helping, thank you so much for your support John! New Poems: Yes! I have written new poems, and I'm trying to sit down and write at least seven poems a week. I use to have goals set to write poems before and then I sort of lost ... touch, with poetry. But I feel that poetic spark coming back, like the artistic one... So I'm using it while it's there. title: EYES AT ME I must be dangerous to you A scary sight to see Visions lacking mercy Or the memorance of memory. A burden on your past Sucking out your soul Biting down so hard You just can't keep control. I know what you hide And all you try to deny The thing you truly are Covered by a scar. www.BeautifullyHorrible.net Updates General Info: I am working on an "Art to do list", I had it started partially but am going to wait until I get all of the images collected for my art pieces before I actually post the list. I cannot find a few poems I wrote a couple of months ago that I had jotted down in my Sudoku book while I was working a close at Mobil, I swore I had the book in my car, however when I looked for it the other day since I had time to type them out I couldn't find it. I'm not sure if these are more poems to add to the "lost and gone forever" catagory... or if in due time they'll come back to me. :D I guess only time will tell that one. I've been really busy trying to keep new things coming, and am attempting to start fixing the links on my main website beautifullyhorrible.net. I am going to be renewing the domain name, and buying webspace through bravenet to remove all of the ad's... Without the ad's I won't have so many upset visitors, plus no one wants to constantly stare at pop ups and other crap.... Furthermore to get a domain without ad's is only a few dollars more a year, so why the hell not? I'm in a good mood, I might as well go with it. The sun has been out and I recently devloped what I can only call sun poisoning. If the condition doesn't clear up in another week I'll have to see a dermatologist, I have very sensitive and pale skin so it wouldn't be a surprise if the sun did serious damage to my skin. Especially since the "spring sun" is apparantly the worst sun to expose yourself too... And I did it for a week straight. :) I'm hoping everything follows course and clears up on it's own. My friend Katherine suggested benadryl, so I've been trying it. So far nothing's changed, but skin takes time to heal. New Section - Videos: I'm not big on youtube, and mostly watch music video's on it since people have directed it to me as of late. However my yahoo group doesn't have much storage and I have it pretty well full because of vid's and files at this point. So I decided to move all of my vid's, new and old, to youtube just so I can actually store old ones, and start doing some new ones. The quality seems a little lost through youtube sadly... I also have read some of the comments people leave for people and am amazed at how mean, cruel, and annoying people can be. I guess that's just the way society has to be, even in the "cyber world". www.BeaurifullyHorrible.net - Updates General Info: APRIL FOOLS! Another month has come to a close, I guess the highlights have been a Concert for Hurt, that turned out to be a huge disapointment. Tim and I's 3 year anniversery (officially yesterday March 31st), and a good time had with some locals for this very event. Having a resident pass at the local nursing home I sometimes volunteer for, she was 83. I have started two new art projects, "Mira Sorvino 2" I was not pleased with the first one I attempted at all, and "Passionate Kisses" which is Anime Fan Art of InuYasha and Kagome kissing. :D Aww, I know, I am such a sucker for love, romance, and all that hoop-la. I have yet to scan any of my work with my scanner, however I did finish "Leah Remini", "Let the bodies...", and of course "Mira Sorvino" already this year. If I continue at this rate I actually might beat my 2006 record not only with the amount of art done, but also the quality of that artwork. www.BeautifullyHorrible.net Updates General Info: I know it's been FOREVER since I've updated just about everything, but I actually have just been unable to update. I am currently finishing up a portrait of "Mira Sorvino" from last night, and have another anime chick I am finishing from January - they make the first drawings I've done for the last nearly six months. I also have a few poems, though I have found I really haven't felt inspired to write poetry for the last few years. Either way - they are new. This Weeks Updates General Info Sort of short on time this week, so I just did updates that I had already added full size versions of too Deviant, hopefully next week (or the next few weeks) might have more interesting things on them. I'm going to be really busy though so it's likely these limited updates are going to be like this for a while. This was an article from a magazine that is hosted at http://www.4wheeloffroad.com ** Though I did not write this I agree with the majority of what "Rick Pewe" states in this article. *** My full thoughts on the article follow the article itself... Enjoy, and keep an open mind. YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT: Written By Rick Pewe Do you know that if you pay money to a certain Web site that you will be spared the guilt of you carbon foot print? Did you know you have a carbon footprint? Isn't this something akin to a religious cult that offers forgiveness of purported sins for an appropriate donation? Yes, it's a cult, and a dangerous one. And this is but the latest example of brainwashing for the shallow-minded people that believe this crap. That's what I have finally decided, the the environmentally inane people (notice I didn't say environmentally conscious people) are trying to take over the world and convert everyone to their cult with bad science, guilt, and moronic mantra based on greed and elitism, "Save the Earth!" goes the mantra. Oh come on, the earth is far bigger and better than we ever will be and will take care of any indiscretions long after we are wiped off the face of it. It's our job to be the caretaker of the world, not the savior. Ok, shoot me now, revoke your subscription, or tear me a new one, but it's time to put the cards on the table and tell it like it is. Make sure you look at the argument in the context of normal people, not from the far whacked or the war wronged, and see how this all pans out. There is a big difference between caring for something and saving it, as any psychobabbling shrink will tell you. Here's a simple one: Spend a night in a hotel and you'll find a little card (which killed some trees to produce) that says "Save the Earth! We won't wash your towels and sheets to save energy and water, please help us save the Earth!" That's all nice and sucks you right in, but what they really mean is "let me make more money by doing less for you." What a scam. Carbon footprint? What idiot dreamed this one up? Simply put, the concept figures out how much energy you use, including eating meat (because it takes more energy to process that than a home veggie garden) to flying cross country to the efficience of your electric blanket. This total is figured in the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere, the main component of the "greenhouse gases" thought by some to be connected to the theory of global warming. And now it's all the rage to use a carbon calculator to figure how much filth (more on that later) each of us spews into the atmosphere. Then, a simple monetary donation offers "guilt-free spewing" as one site claimed, with the possibility of a tree being planted to offset your action of harming the earth. It seems to me that these scam sites are using up as much energy fleecing the public's pockets while issuing Carbon Credits that mean literally nothing. Remember, this is CO2 we're talking about - simple carbon dioxide! This stuff is important to the planet, not filth! You want filth, let's bring up horse and cow flatulence; I'd feel better next to a diesel smokestack than the rear end of a team of oxen any day. Where does it end? It's easy to tell our schoolchildren to "Save the Earth" and all that type of cultish crap, because it's way too much effort to teach them how to think for themselves and decipher the media's one-sided alarmist attention to global warming. It's so much easier to portray man as bad and fill us with guilt, especially when it leads to closure of trails and land we once wheeled on. It saves money by closing these as they don't have to be managed. And guess what? Then that guilt factor gets relieved by being able to spend a couple of bucks to remove our carbon footprint. The way this is going, we won't even be able to leave a regular footprint on earth, much less a carbon one. *** My Thoughts on This Indeed, what idiot did dream this up? Apparently whomever the idiot was he or she wasn't much of an idiot considering the attention, the following, and the brainwashing that has ensued because of this scientific theory. I have to give credit where credit is due and the people behind this scam, or cult if you may, have gone pretty far and have a very strong following. Naturally, the brainwashing begins in school and they tell you in school what you're learning is inherently fact. I was nearly a victim of the scam myself until I grew up, found some common sense and thought... "Isn't carbon dioxide what trees, plants, and beautiful flowers live off of?" The bottom line is it's mostly bullshit, granted the planet's getting warmer but for people that can't even predict the forecast for three days correctly to tell me that the world is going to be a "burning ball of fire" seems a bit rediculous. Furthermore when has scientific "consensus" been a new term for scientific "fact"? The last time science was based off "consensus", which essentially is the majority of people agreeing something was true, we all thought the world was flat and the Earth was the center of the universe. I've presented the facts to my friends that buy into global warming or at least embrace some of the less crazy ideas behind it and none of them can really defend it. This isn't really a surprise though considering something based off "scientific consensus" compared to "facts" is a tough argument for anyone to approach. However I have heard a common theme behind all of these arguments "Even if it isn't true, why not do all that we can to save the planet anyway?" Well I agree that we should do our part to help the planet, but if global warming by carbon dioxide is not true how do we know that 'carbon footprints' are really where we need to start at all? Furthermore who's to say we will not hurt the planet more by creating these ideas? And finally the real problem with this planet isn't carbon dioxide, or resources, it's that we have way too many people because of increased mortality rate and better medicine. It's time to cut back on the real problem, population, something science DOES prove to be an issue. Yet I do not see anyone requesting that families be limited to a certain number of children, and I see all kinds of aid going out to save everyone in the world... No offence to anyone but for those concerned so much for the life of the planet why keep spending all kinds of money to save the very problem with the planet - people. O V E R P O P U L A T I O N. I guess that's where common sense comes in, it's probably easier on someone's conscience to pay carbon credits then to decide to be responsible and actually limit the number of offspring they bare to this already crowded world. GLOBAL WARMING: REPENT NOW (Written: By G. F.) Part 1-CONCESUS- Why do they call it global warming when people are freezing to death in the middle of spring.Well along with that question comes another,why do politicians preach this CONSESUS as truth? Both questions can be answered with 3 simple words, money, power(control also fits in this group), votes. When I say politicians I mean ALL politicians, now this also raises another question.This question is "Why do scientists support this, if it isn't true".This answer is in the "money"group as stated above. The scientists that deny it are casted out and counted as heretics, but when the truth is that the ones that count them as heretics are the actual heretics. Science that is fact is based on truth NOT CONSENSUS. Consesus is something that is an idea, not fact.Some may ask"Well what about in school?", and my answer to that is a question that one should try to answer themselves before reading the sentence after the question. What controls the schools ciruclum, and who controls them. Now some may say parents, but parents once went through school so that answer is faulted, the wright answer is the state and the government runs the state, so in truth the school is one of the enviromentalists' tools, meant to teach children and to not let them think for themselves, and when these kids have their own kids they will preach this CONCESUS as truth.Well by now I probably have some of you getting ready to kill and others dumbfounded and others starting to wonder. Part 2 -The truth is right in front of you- Some will probably ask, "Then why do they tell us there is an increase in average temperature" and the answer is simple, There isn't, the planet is the same average as normal. But if some still say it is, then I have a question for you. What about Mars, Mars' temperature is increasing as well, now you cant say that our actions are affecting the temperature there. And if the planets' temp. is increasing then I have an explanation. It is beleived(or maybe proven, I'm not sure)that before each Ice Age their is an increase in surface temperature. And another piece of history is that during the dinosaur's age the Earth was much warmer then it is now. Now let me guess, T-Rex drove a SUV around didn't he. NO, a reasonable explanation is the large amount of volcanic activity. Volcanoes DO release carbon dioxide(refered to from now on as Co2).The truth is right in front of you, look outside its probably warm if its spring and cold if its winter. Now I've heard people cry global warming in summer, and global cooling (due to global warming, how does warming induce cooling)in winter. When I was in elementary, summer meant warm weather and winter meant cold weather, did things change once I got into middle school or is it just me? Part 3-Co2 out of your mouth- Thats right, everyone stop brething youre causing global warming!!!!! You breathe out Co2, amongst other gases. So if you realy want to save the earth, put your head in a bag, and do us all a favor. Some may say"i'm using an electric,whatever", but the conundrum is, where do you get the electricity? Helk, some might be so ignorant to say that they get a from an outlet". Oh you do, but that outlet is straight from a power plant and who knows how that power plant gets energy, however when I say this Im not inviting you to point your fingers at the power companys, their just doing what the GOVERNMENT tells them. Then the government turns around and stabs the power plants in the back, shutting down nuclear powerplants, and other types. Now back to the Co2 dilema. Im not arguing that Co2 is a green house gas, I admit it is, just look at Venus, but Venus and Earth are different in the fact that Venus has no plants, Earth does, plants use Co2 and give out Oxygen. And this basic exchange is taught at schools, and yet people are still so ignorant as to beleive the faciest,socialist,and communist government. Thats right all of them are as equally guilty. Part 4-The movie of ignorant proportions- I watched a movie once, that I will call TDAT. This movie is a perfect example of the enviromenalists' pathetic reason to regresse(to bring us back to our primtive state) human society, so that they may take TOTAL control of the people. TDAT states that due to global warming, the planet will suddenly flash freeze. Wich in blanten terms is BULL-----, any change in earths temperature will be steady, not sudden. This movie also states that New York will flood, once again I'll call BS, in order for earth to create water, water must be first taken away, in the average water cycle, THIS FACT IS ALSO TAUGHT IN SCHOOL, so why do the ignorant people follow the propaganda of things like this movie of ignorant proportions? Simple, nobody is thinking for temselves anymore, its all a matter of sheep, and when the leader of the flock falls off that cliff the rest of the ignorant ones will also go. Part5 -The Ring of Fire- Increased temperature can also be due to the ring of fire.The area's in the pacific that have active volcanoes underwater. Some will ask "if it's under water how does it affect the surface?". Easy, the tempertature of Earth is also encompanied by the streams of the ocean, this will effect temperature in certain areas. And even despite that, volcanoes release much larger amounts of Co2 then humans ever could, so by saying we effect Earth with the small amount of Co2 we produce then your'e saying that the planet pollutes it's self. Part 6 -Solar Flares, and our records- Solar flares can cause interesting evens, sattelite problrms, radio/TV problems, and, yes, weather oddities. One day could be extremely warm, the next cold. However, despite all of the other argumentive points the following one is extrmely important to the argument. Humans have only been recording weather for only a little over a hundred years, wich, compared to the planets age, is nothing, so how can these selfcentered pigs tell us were polluting our planet? The people in charge ar constantly searching for ways to take more control(gun abolishing, "How can you trust a government that doesnt trust you with guns?" and taking fredom of speach, and allowing in the illegals)Government is another way to say better than the people. Part 7-The Year there was no Summer- Thats right, there was a time in the 1800s that there was no summer, due to a volcano on the other side of the world. And you can find out about that yourself if you dont beleive me.The volcano let out enough ash and other materials to cool the planet, JUST ONE VOLCANO. Well I guess this means that the planet has a bigger problem. Yellowstone, an extremely large volcano will one day go, bringing the next ice age. This thought sends chills through my spine, the thought thath flies through my head is that this one thing could caus the next summers dissapearing. Part 8-The Carbon Footprint- Im sure youv'e heard it before, 'were leaving behind carbon footprints", waaahhhh, every species will, weather you enviromentalists like it or not.Here is a thought the next time you stay at a hotel, look for a card that says"Save the Earth! We won't wash your sheets and towels to save water and energy. Help us save the Earth!"..........Great, youre sleeping in someones filth. Disease spreads easily this way. -Poor Sue, she died of a fever at age 4, she got it after she slept at a hotel that saves the Earth-(Sue is not a real person despite that little skit). It's easy to tell a student to save the Earth, but god forbid they teach you to use that thing between you ears rather then following every pathetic type of thing that the government can come up with. Part 9-And now the ploy- All governments use these types of things to win votes and make money, yeah thats right, some politician is making money from your disability to think, so that he can buy a private jet that would be able to fuel many cars. This isnt the first time, but it is the most odvious. The school isn't much help, always forcing you to follow some code that forces people to talk to a teacher rather than think. So when an enviromentalist comes on TV and states that Co2 is filth, kids(and parents beleive them). I admit I started to beleive them, until my father and mother told me to rethink that decision, anf then i started to think, and realized, what a bunch of crap. Co2 is good for the planet, because of the cycle between plants snd animals, if you like hard enough you'll see that the planet is full of cycles. Part 10-Cycles- The water cycle, the plant cycle(photosyntesis), these are all cycles but the one im going to make a point of slapping you enviromentalists in the face with is the Ice Age cycle. Every 10,000 or so years there is a mini ice age, and aver million+ years theres a large Ice Age. And its been theorized(or maybe even proven) that the planet heats up before an Ice age, or mini ice age. But this year('07) seems much cooler to me. The cold snap period lasting al the way into March, a little long, that balances the warm period in the beggining of December. If after all of this you still beleive in global warming, then do the planet a favor and kill yourself and everyone you know. You would then stop the Co2 out of your mouth. |

TULIPS AND GLOBAL WARMING (Written by: Alan Jewell) * This was not written by me, it was written by Alan Jewell; you can find more of Alan's work at http://www.fivestarpublishing.com ** Though this article was not written by me I do agree with many of the points indicated in the article. *** My opinion and thoughts on the article will follow after the article. Tulips and Global Warming</b>Written by Alan Jewell In 1841 Charles Mackay wrote the classic book of human follies and foibles, “Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds.” This book is always on my list of necessary books to read if a student of the markets wants to understand some basis of human psychology behind market movement. From the great bubbles of human extravagance in the past to the current mass hysterias, the book outlines the one constant of human weakness: the ability of humans to delude themselves with greed and ignorance, while dismissing the obvious hucksterism and bamboozlement in front of them. My all-time favorite classic from Mackay’s writing surrounds the Tulip Bulb mania of the mid-1600’s. This historically accurate story recounts how otherwise sane men and women would risk entire fortunes on the acquisition of a single tulip bulb, to be shown off or speculatively retendered. Fortunes and reputations were won and lost during the run up of prices and shortages of the lusted bulbous tuber. The offset occurred when the eventual oversupply collapsed the prices and the pocketbooks of participants. Eventually, common sense overcame the willing ignorance of the masses of the speculators, as prices topped and than began to plummet. But, some time had to pass until the mania had run its course. To the egotistic auguer of today’s insulated enlightenment, who is willing to be taken in by a current mania, perhaps a reminder of the various Ponzi schemes that grace the headlines of our daily newspapers, or the chain letters that promise free riches that arrive via the internet, or the housing bubbles, or the dot com bubbles, corporate malfeasance, or the moral leadership of our trusted politicians in Washington, can center his thinking. All this would underscore the written word of several millennia ago, “there is nothing new under the sun.” P.T. Barnum noted “there is a sucker born every minute” and Vladmiir Lenin coined the term “useful idiots.” Neither of these historical peddlers of the hucksterism would be surprised if they were to attend Al Gore’s screening of “An Inconvenient Truth,” because they would recognize many of the same elements of persuasion being used again to promote a political agenda called global warming. Where Barnum and to a lesser extent Lenin, would admire the current hysteria surrounding global warming, they could be amazed at the not so subtle shift from the old presentations to now that includes an additional element of religious avocation, couples with a new rendition of Mackay’s manias. Here, the global warming adherents of today, follow with their self appointed apostolate, Gore, to his logical extension of global warming, all the way to the apocalyptic end. Gore does not include in his analysis any differing degrees of opinion regarding the potential harm of global warming, or any considerations of skeptics of his extreme position; the only scenario is the one he presents, which is the worst case scenario. The Czechoslovakian President Vaclav Klaus has stated that the ideology of communism has been replaced by a “religion” of global warming. Klaus states, “This ideology preaches earth and nature and under the slogans of their protection – similarly to the old Marxists – wants to replace the free and spontaneous evolution of mankind by a sort of central, now global, planning of the whole world.” Klaus further states that it is fruitless to fight the followers of global warming because they reject other perspectives of the origins of global warming, such as higher solar activity or changing of ocean currents, which may explain the earths warming, contrary to the view held by Gore. Other scientists offer other explanations of warming, not caused by man’s use of fossil fuel, such as the effect of solar related energy that is warming the surface of Mar’s more rapidly than Earth, or as paleontologist Professor Ian Clark claims in a current British documentary that the oceans release of carbon dioxide is the main cause of rising levels of this gas. Clark believes that the earth is heating up and causes the oceans to release carbon dioxide, which is backwards of Gore’s theory. Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor Richard Lindzen has stated that once a person has accepted the concept of global warming, “you never have to defend this belief except to claim that you are supported by all scientists – except for a handful of corrupted heretics.” He further states, “it’s a sad story, where you have scientists making meaningless or ambiguous statements (about climate change). They are then taken by advocates to the media who translate the statements into alarmist declarations. You then have politicians who respond to all of this by giving scientists more money.” Here the new religion of global warming assimilates some of the regrettable interpretations of the religious extremists. The hypocrisy and corruption found in many of the world’s religious history books can be found currently in the actions of Gore and many of his followers. Gore himself attempts to explain away his excessive consumption of fossil fuels by purchasing “carbon credits”, to offset his unnaturally large usage of natural recourses. Carbon credits represent a way the rich can continue their lifestyle unimpeded while less wealthy individuals or companies are required to make changes to reduce global warming. The dirty secrets of carbon credits are that it will eventually be cheaper to buy carbon credits than it will to stop polluting. The rich, like Gore, will not have to feel the pain of meeting some carbon quota law, while being at risk of the value of a carbon credit plummet in price similarly to the tulip market in 1650. That risk will be shouldered by less fortunate. Once the hysterical phase of global warming passes, and the failed politicians and alarmist acolytes rest their hoarse voices, and a saner discussion occurs of scientific methods regarding global warming, rather than following by blind faith, we will look back at this time in wonderment of the gullibility of us all. Now is the time to debate in a healthy manner, where scientific testability and repeatability can be established, before leaps of unquantified faith tumble our economy into the abyss. This will quiet the dissenting voices that are currently dismayed at the unquestioned doctrinaire required by the newly religious Gore-acolytes. My thoughts on this article I have already gone through and highlighted (using bold face font) the strong points in this article that I agree with. I have no problem saving and helping this planet, I have a lot of respect for this planet. I get angry at people that throw garbage out of the window of their cars; I am sadened when an innocent creature has to die because of a road we paved... However I also realize beyond all of the bad that we do to this world, we as human beings do a lot of good for it as well. Human's have the conscience and understanding to do a lot of things for the world that many creatures do not, and though I am very sad and even angered at the death of animals because of human beings, I realize I have no desire to go back in technology and lose all that we have gained through progressing forward. The answer is never to "go backward" it's always to move forward no matter the problem or the drama. What I really enjoyed about this article though was how the article pointed out the obvious things that people every where are chosing to ignore. I have many intelligent friends, and I know plenty of people that are far more intelligent then I, yet so many of these people get so caught up in global warming they do the unspeakable and ignore the facts. Blind faith is always a problem, blind faith causes innocent people their life many time in the past. Just because something does not call itself a religion doesn't mean it's not, after all many cults never had religious status and the people followed their leaders blindly. As Alan Jewell stated in this article it's not worth arguing with those that followers of global warming because like cults, religion, and utterly dangerous blind faith they just scoff at you, ignore you, or argue that "the majority of scientists do agree." They ignore that the "majority" of scientists are only those that get played on news and telivision stations that are often on someone's pay roll anyway. As my father has told me since I could remember... "Follow the money, because following the money will help you understand why most people do what they do." It's true in crime, it's true in emotion, it's certainly true in politics, telivision, and always true with people. I'm not saying we should stop recycling, or that we should use things friviously, or even that we should be wasteful. Just because I do not agree totally with the science behind global warming doesn't mean I do not believe we should help to take care of our planet. I just feel we should be reasonable and use our common sense. Can't anyone see where this is going? Can't anyone see the collars with the leash to go around their necks? Politics, religion... They are all about controlling people, and what better way to control people then to limit how and where they can travel? Furthermore the ones that will be most effected by this as Alan Jewell so cleverly pointed out will be those of us with less money. Why give up your freedoms? Why allow the rich to have even more up on you because now they can travel and go places you cannot afford to go? Thank you for Reading, Serena |

Change of Setup Info: For the past three weeks I was setting up a "Babe of the week" "Dude of the week" "Featured Writer" and "Featured Artists" I am currently putting that on hold because I have no internet service at my house as of yet. I was using a friends PC to update my Fotki page, my website, and my deviant art page up until a couple of weeks ago but now my friend and I are both too busy for that to work. I am debating using the public library, but it's very hard to do that considering the libarary has limited hours, and where I live the computers are not that abundent. I was planning on having the internet ready at my new place by now but we are again moving so there's no point to set it up for at least another three months. I will be online to approve members, and hopefully link some featured fotki pictures... But I can make no guarantee at this point. To all those that visit my website daily, I am sorry. But I guarantee you BeautifullyHorrible.net will be up and running again soon enough!
